Gauteng to decrease skills shortage through internships

Are you a graduate aged between 18 and 35 with no prior working experience and require experiential training? If so, the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) has internships and learnership opportunities for you.

To access these opportunities, graduates are encouraged to register to be enlisted on the Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) unemployment database for the 2012 intake. While the GPG welcomes the news that the country’s employment statistics were slightly higher in the third quarter of this year, the province remains concerned about the high numbers of young people without jobs.

Governance facilitator workshop held

Training of governance facilitators to prepare them for the roll-out of the Hand-over capacity building programme has begun. A workshop to kick-start the process was held at the MGSLG Vrededorp Campus on Saturday. This workshop was organised to prepare these facilitators for this Hand-over capacity building programme in preparation for the new SGB cohort to be elected in March 2012.

The workshop was very well attended with the hall packed to capacity. This is a clear indication of the interest of our stakeholders in this programme.
