Basic evaluation on schools that are underperforming will be conducted. The analysis will be used to respond to the challenges that these schools are facing. Training and development will ensure that the contextual realities are considered and addressed.
Research was undertaken in a sample of 16 schools across the Inter=Sen Phase in Gauteng. The sample was selected on the basis of the Annual National Assessment (ANA) results. Eight schools were randomly selected from priority schools. This research resulted in a report being compiled: Case studies on the state of resources for literacy in the Intersen Phase of underperforming school: a comparative study with performing schools.
